    Event Description:
    The Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year, Rural Citizen of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Business of the Year and New Horizon Award..  Nomination forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce Office at 218 Commercial Avenue. 
    The Citizen of the Year Award is awarded to a resident of Coleman.
    The Rural Citizen of the Year Award is given to a resident of the County outside the city limits of Coleman.
    The New Horizon Award is given to a Coleman County resident 40 years of age or younger who exhibits leadership in the community.
    The Teacher of the Year Award is given to a teacher currently teaching at any of the public schools in Coleman County.
    The Business of the Year is given to a business in Coleman County.
    Nomination deadline is 4:00 pm Friday, March 15th.  Nominations can be mailed to P.O. Box 796, Coleman, Texas 76834 or dropped by the Chamber of Commerce office at 218 Commercial Avenue by close of business March 15th.   Nominees will be notified but winners won’t be announced until the night of the banquet. 
    In lieu of a live auction at this year’s banquet, music will be provided by Coleman County’s Allen Ray & Southern Comfort, playing country, Texas music, rock and blues.
    Food will be catered by Don Luis Café of Coleman.  Chamber of Commerce members will receive two free meal tickets.  Chamber members should RSVP by March 22nd to 325-625-2163.  The two free meal tickets will be at the will call table the night of the banquet.
    Ticket price for the general public at the door is $15 per person.
    A new addition to the banquet this year is the opportunity to purchase a key for $25 and, at the end of the night, see if your key unlocks a trip for 2, (including airfare and hotel) to Las Vegas, Nevada.  The winner will enjoy 3 days and 2 nights at the Mirage.  (trip must be booked 30 days in advance and within the first six months after winning, cannot be used in December)
    A Silent Auction is also a part of the evening festivities with many nice items to bid on.
    The Chamber directors and staff look forward to seeing you at this year’s banquet.  Get those nominations in by 4:00 pm Friday, March 15.
