The Coleman County Child Welfare Board is dedicated to educating the public on child abuse prevention and working towards ensuring that all children live in a nurturing and safe environment. Our board members are appointed by the City Commissioners to work in cooperation with state Child Protective Service staff. County boards contribute annually to meet children's needs that cannot be met by the limited state funding of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Locally, we maintain a Raindrop Closet that furnishes needed items for children who are removed from their homes. We distribute Christmas food baskets to each foster home; checks to each foster child for birthdays, Christmas, and school supplies and clothes; and we provide funding for other individualized items when requested and approved (such as Senior rings, tuition for camps, etc.).

Our annual Christmas fundraiser, Helping Hands, determines how much we can assist our foster children. Our community has been very generous, and we appreciate your support.

If you suspect any abuse or neglect, it is the law that you report it. You may do this by calling their Hotline # 1-800-252-5400 or you may do this online at:
